Pattern Recognition

Art Exhibition

Works by Peter Barrett, Charles Benefiel, Zach Layton, Tristan Perich

The Philoctetes Center presents Pattern Recognition, the first in this season's series of exhibitions. Pattern recognition is a discipline that explores systems of recurring relationships in data. Whether inspired by aesthetics, artificial intelligence, or a pathological compulsion for order, the works in this exhibit use computers, mathematical algorithms, randomness, symbols, and patterns as creative means.

Exhibition curated by Hallie Cohen, Chair, Art Department, Marymount Manhattan College.

Peter Barrett, Untitled #6, acrylic and pencil on paper, 2004
